I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Heath Ledger playing the younger Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins. Somehow I can't really see him pulling it off. I've been known to have been wrong before though. Time will tell.

I wonder if Heath Ledger got the part because he looks more like Jack Nicholson than Paul Bettany, who was the last actor slated for the role of The Joker. When I heard Paul Bettany was being considered, I was very pleased because he seemed perfect for playing a maniacal character with dyed-green hair.

Frankly, the casting of the character will not affect my desire to see 'The Dark Knight' in the slightest. I am just depressed that I will have to wait until 2008 to see the finished product.

Hmm, I'm not sure how it'll go.. but I definately did like J. Nicholson and Michael Keaton's Batman.

Then again, Batman Begins was freakin' impressive...
Did you notice how many Brits were in that movie? I was utterly impressed and loved Tom Wilkinson's accent (and yes..I butchered his last name).

Brian,

I think Paul Bettany would have been perfect in the role of The Joker. While Heath Ledger might in fact look a little more like Jack Nicholson, I don't think he's as good an actor as Paul. Time will tell of course.

And I'm in 100% agreement that whoever plays The Joker will have no bearing whatsoever on whether I will be watching The Dark Night. I'm so there.

Yes, the Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton Batman movie was quite good. In fact I think Jack stole the movie somewhat and was so good as The Joker that I think that's why I'm a little apprehensive about Heath Ledger.

That being said, the other Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney efforts were, quite frankly, horrible. Which is why I so pleased that Batman Begins was good. Actually very good. Actually extremely good. Did I mention that it was good?

Heh, yes.. it was good, very very good. I'm glad they decided to redo the franchise. It got a bit outta control when it went to different actors to play Batman.

If they can get Christian Bale to all the new ones, that'd be awesome!
