Jack Black. What The Hell?

[Moozik: Snow Patrol - Spitting Games]

Am I the only one who just doesn't get Jack Black? I don't think he's funny and usually, I want to slap him.

That is all.

And on a lighter note, Snow Patrol rock. Another fine music discovery :-)

Take That Were Bollocks

[Moozik: The Cure - Shake Dog Shake]

A lot of people make jokes about having awards for no reason just for the sake of having awards, and pretending they were good when they weren't. I'm not old enough to know a lot of them, but even I know Take That were bollocks.
Heh. Young whippersnapper Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys receiving a Q magazine award yesterday.

Music Discoveries

[Moozik: Muse - Map Of The Problematique]

Every once in a while I discover really really good albums by bands whose names I've heard of but have never had the chance to listen to any of their music. The last time this happened was when I bought Violet by The Birthday Massacre. That album has become one of my most played albums and I love it.

Thanks to my brother-in-law, I now have a new album to add to my list of great discoveries. Black Holes and Revelations by Muse. I really really like it and the song 'Starlight' is my current fave. I also have their Showbiz, Absolution, and Origin of Symmetry albums but haven't listened to them yet.

I suspect I'll be seeing an awful lot of Muse appearing on my last.fm page in the near future.

Visiting The Homeland And Back Again

|

[Moozik: Tears For Fears - Start Of The Breakdown]

I went back to England the week before last for a whirlwind 7-day visit. Had a nice relaxing time. It was so nice to see my Mum, Dad, and Sister again. Had an excellent Friday night out with my Sister, her husband, and their friends. I also had a chance to catch up with my old friends Jason and Nick who I hadn't seen in probably 12 years. Was so nice to buy each other pints down the pub again. Brought back some bloody great memories of classic nights from the good ol' days. Mental note to self - do *not* leave it another 12 years to get together again.

Last week my Sister, my Mum, and my good self all flew back to the US. My Sister hadn't been here in something like 8 years. The three of us actually survived rather well in my apartment. Rather well indeed. Did some decent shopping, ate some rather excellent meals. Had some rather good late night drinking & talking sessions with my Sister. Saturday morning's 4am viewing of Depeche Mode's 101 DVD would be as good an example as any :-)

Still Actually Alive

[Moozik: The Killers - When You Were Young]

So the past month has been rather stressful to say the least. I'm not going to dwell on the details but my wife and I have separated and I'm now living in an apartment. It's still early days yet. Not sure what the future holds. But life goes on. And I'm back to blogging again.
