So with all the recent talk of David Beckham's move to the US I happened to actually read a couple of the articles in their entirety instead of skimming over the details. Turns out the Manager of the LA Galaxy is Alexi Lalas. I was not aware of that.
I had one of those woah, wait a minute moments. I met Alexi years ago (circa 1994 ish I think) at the airport in Venice. He was playing for Padova in those days. We got chatting while standing in a baggage check-in queue from hell. Really nice bloke with a bloody good sense of humour as I recall.
Did he have that wicked chinny beard thingy when you met him?

And let it be known that "wicked chinny beard thingy" has gone down as the phrase of the month. It's like you have a way with words - or something ;-)
