James Comey Testifies Before Senate

[Moozik: Killing Joke - The Wait]

Sometimes you read or listen to something and you are completely at a loss for words. This is a video of the former deputy Attorney General James Comey testifying before the Senate. It is truely stunning. Andrew Card and Alberto Gonzalez apparently waited until then Attorney General John Ashcroft was in intensive care in hospital to try to convince him to sign off on an NSA spying campaign which both Ashcroft and Comey felt was illegal.

Remind me how Alberto Gonzalez still has a job again?

Because he's a Bush loyalist. But the pressure is mounting for him to step down. I wish we lived in a world in which the American public actually took an interest in Politics and would watch these senate hearings and become angry enough to voice their opinion to their Congressman or Senator. Failing that, at least actually watch the news once in a while. Oh, but then the news would have to actually run stories such as this. Sorry, my bad. For a second there I got all carried away thinking that the media in this country actually does a good job. Good thing I'm not an old cynical curmudgeon.

What? The media does a smashing job of reporting missing white women and Anna-Nicole Smith. Oh, that's not what you meant? Can I call you Captain Jaded from now on? ;-)
