The 2007 Glendale Open was so much fun. I initially got into Beach Volleyball while watching the 2004 Athens Olympics. I must say that being there in person really gives you an appreciation of just how hard they hit (sorry, spike) the ball. That man above, Phil Dalhausser, at 6'9" is one intimidating bloke and when he spikes and/or serves you just say "wow" out loud.

It was also really cool to see Misty May and Kerri Walsh (gold medalists in Athens) in person. I have to give credit to Kerri Walsh for hanging around for ages after the match to take photos and sign autographs for everyone that came up to her. And there were a lot of people that did want photos and autographs ;-)
