Learning, Michael Douglas Style

[Moozik: The Stranglers - Bear Cage]

It's well known that actors often learn new tasks in the course of filming a movie. It might be a new language or how to take apart a M16 rifle; anything that makes their character more convincing. Michael Douglas though, he's one smart man and goes above and beyond. Take his new movie for example.

I learned how to use the shovel, and I wanted to go out like Charlie and just dig around.
A shovel you say? Impressive. Taught yourself or did you have trained professionals to assist?

Hate to burst the bubble, Kev, but the shovel he is speaking of isn't a hand shovel. Its a pretty big piece of equipment.

Aw, c'mon now, it was much more amusing thinking of him picking up a shovel and going "damned if I know what I'm supposed to do with this".

Kev, I think he did mean the backhoe, even though he said shovel :D Good thing that wasn't confusing ;-)

When I think of shovel, a huge piece of machinery is not exactly the first thing that springs to mind either. But there ya go.

@jake - yeah, now that I've read it again, I'm sure he did mean backhoe. Still, I'm going to press on thinking that he meant shovel. And grin. No one can take my Michael Douglas amusement away from me ;-)
