Today's Presidential Photo Op
[Moozik: Killing Joke - Eighties]
Tonight's CBS news ran a story about President Bush touring the fire ravaged areas of California. As I was watching I couldn't help but think that it's a good thing all those firefighters were pulled off the front line to appear at the President's photo op. That's time well spent right there.
I would agree more if this happened earlier... those were much much scarier times.
By Thursday the winds had died down and things were under much better control than previously.
Monday was the scariest... stupid Santa Ana winds.
Yeah, I guess it depends on where you live. I got an email yesterday from a friend who lives in Orange County and she attached a couple of photos from her neighborhood. She said that they were starting to evacuate her part of town yesterday. Still scary stuff for sure.
I should have blogged during that time, but I had the computer packed in the car.. ready to go! The fires were on either side of the town. RB and Poway surround this area, so going north wasn't an option..
Amy - Wow, I do read your blog and I did read your comment (honest) but for some reason totally spaced on the fact that you lived in California. So how much do I suck? I can't imagine what that must have been like living surrounded by the fires. Scared doesn't begin to describe it I would imagine.
Please accept my apology for the glib "Yeah, I guess it depends on where you live." remark. Rather bad taste now that I've been hit with the "er, hi genius, she lives there" cluestick ;-)
