2008 Australian Open
[Moozik: Cop Shoot Cop - Surprise, Surprise]
The first week of this year's Australian Open is now over and as always I'm totally addicted. It's all Tennis, all the time in my house let me tell you. The past couple of days have had 3 amazing 5 set matches that have been an absolute treat if you're as much of a Tennis fan as I am.
Roger Federer vs Janko Tipsarevic - Federer finally coming out on top with a 10-8 win in the final set. For a while I thought Tipsarevic had a chance of winning. Both players were playing amazing Tennis.
Andy Roddick vs Philipp Kohlschreiber - Kohlschreiber playing the match of his life to win the match. Both players played amazingly well with Roddick serving 42 aces and Kohlschreiber hitting 100+ winners.
Lleyton Hewitt vs Marcos Baghdatis - Hewitt won this epic and historic 5 set match. Historic because they didn't start the match until 11:49pm. The final point was won at 4:34am with 9 thousand fans still in the stands.
I'm hoping next week's matches prove to be as entertaining as this week's. Best opening week of a major tournament I can remember.
I love it! I don't watch as much as i used to when i was in (high)school (because of all the freetime!), but now and then i watch some matches on Eurosport.
My favourite tennisplayer? Although he's retired and now playing on the 35+ tour, it would have to be Goran Ivanisevic. Favourite tournament? Roland Garros (sorry sir...), followed closely by Wimbledon (there you go...).
And oh, i have a mean serve myself :D
You have a mean serve? I think I used to at one point. I haven't played in years ;-)
At the moment I'm a Nadal fan although I do want Roger to continue to win more grand slams just so I can say for certain that I've seen the best player of all time ;-) When I was growing up though my favorite player was Stefan Edberg. And of course, Wimbledon is my fave tournament. Surprised?
