Oatmeal Stout

The other week I bought some Young's Oatmeal Stout from my favorite shop but it managed to find its way to the back of the fridge and got hidden. I found it last night.

It was, quite simply, delicious.

The description on the back of the bottle sums it up quite nicely. They're not fibbing about the aftertaste of toast and I heartily recommend it if you're into this kind of thing.

"A dark, ruby coloured stout almost black from a distance, with a beautiful, creamy head. Brewed with roasted malts, it has an exceptionally smooth palate and fruity aroma with a short but distinctive finish reminiscent of toast."

Have you had Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout? It's very good.

For dessert, you should try a Young's Double Chocolate Stout mixed with Lindemans Framboise Lambic. Never considered mixing beers until a bartender friend poured me one.

Cheers!

oooh, I'll have to try the Oatmeal Stout, I've had Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale and it was delicious. I've had Young's Double Chocolate Stout but not mixed I'm afraid. Sounds like a bloody great idea though ;-)
