Teevee

For some reason I haven't watched Battlestar Galactica in about three weeks now. I think there will be some kinda, some sorta downloading going on this weekend to rectify that. Just how good was this week's Lost anyway? I watched it last night and was all rather disappointed when it ended. I love that show. Hopelessly addicted.

Car

This week marked the big 90,000 mile point on my car. It's still going strong. I'm simultaneously toying with two ideas at the moment. The idea of buying a new car around the end of the year vs driving the car until it falls apart. Seeing as the car is in really good shape I think I'll keep driving it for as long as it humanly possible.

Fish

I'm moving my aquarium & fish to my new house today. Should be awfully entertaining. I have a plan of attack that involves a mini tank, Home Depot buckets and a lot of luck. If half my fish survive then I'll be extremely happy. As long as my Clown Loaches survive I'll be happy.

Tonight

The Fish Market. The last time I was there I had some amazing Shark. Not sure what I'll be in the mood for tonight though. Something different, something I haven't tried before. Then it's off to see Iron Man. Everyone and their brother has already seen it so it's about flippin' time.

Music

Last week Nine Inch Nails released another album, the second of this year. A completely free download in a plethora of formats: MP3, lossless FLAC & M4A, and even the hard drive filling 24/96 WAVE. Unlike the earlier release this year, there appears to be no way to actually donate money to the cause. Which is a shame. Still he made a pretty penny off that and this album seems to be nothing more than an advertisement for his upcoming live tour. Again, I think Trent Reznor is one of the few artists that really understands that the old record company business model is probably dead.

Next Week's Gig

Wednesday night is the London After Midnight / The Birthday Massacre show at the Marquee Theater in Tempe. Gothtacular ;-)

I hope BSG is living up to the hype of it being the last season. You do know that there will be a new show that's going to spin off...? I wonder if it'll be half as decent.

I agree about the car ;) Why get rid of it if it runs well...

Good luck with your fish! That isn't fun, but it is challenging!

Amy... to be honest the few episodes of this season of BSG that I did catch were a little underwhelming actually. Maybe the episodes I've missed are better. Oh and yeah, that spin off show is called Caprica isn't it? I'll certainly watch it. I'm firmly decided, car stays until it falls apart ;-) Transporting the aquarium, stand, accessories, and the fish themselves was quite entertaining. But they lived to tell the tale. Well, so to speak.

I'm several weeks behind on BSG myself. Been avoiding entertainment shows/sites like crazy. I'm behind on a lot of shows, actually, except for "Lost."

Great new photos! I really like that aquarium. I find fish tanks soothing to look at. It must have been some job to set it up.

Not that I'm a vegetarian or anything, but I'm just curious - did you feel guilty at all for spending so much time on your aquarium in the afternoon and then going to The Fish Market for dinner? LOL, I couldn't resist asking, haha ;)

My rule of thumb on deciding to keep a car or trade it in for new is simple. If the repair bills start coming in on a regular basis and cost more than a new car payment, time to ditch it. Figure if you're going to spend the money, at least have the comfort of knowing you can hand it off to somebody else and say fix it! (for free)

Karl... yeah I've been doing my best to avoid any BSG related news. It's hard to do actually ;-)

Cindy... hah, yes there was something a little wrong with me taking such good care of my fish to get them from A to B and then go to a seafood restaurant once I was done.

Tony... yes, that's a good rule of thumb. Knock on wood I've been lucky so far with my repairs. If they start to mount up that will certainly be the sign that the car is indeed falling apart and time to bail ;-)
