Stay Classy Walmart Shoppers

I appreciate a good deal as much as the next person. Who doesn't right? But trampling a bloke to death in your haste to get into the shop? I do sometimes fear for the human race. Really I do.

A Wal-Mart worker died early Friday after an "out-of-control" mob of frenzied shoppers smashed through the Long Island store's front doors and trampled him, police said.

The Black Friday stampede plunged the Valley Stream outlet into chaos, knocking several employees to the ground and sending others scurrying atop vending machines to avoid the horde.

When the madness ended, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour was dead and four shoppers, including a woman eight months pregnant, were injured.

I've only ventured out on "black friday" once ever in my life. And it was an experience I'll never ever repeat. EVER. No deal is worth that amount of arsewipery I can assure you.

Oh my God this is horrific. What possesses people? When are we going to tame our greed? I really, truly hate the naked consumerism endemic in our culture today.

When did the value of a human life become so small that it could be wasted so that another could own an inanimate object? It simply beggars belief.

Don't forget they tore the door open. The poor guy never even legitimately unlocked the doors for the customers. They were so desperate, they tore them open. Every last one of them should be stoned.

This story made the BBC news too. Absolutely horrible! I may have read also that the store re-opened several hours later. That just seems so wrong, doesn't it?

jonathan... it is truly mind boggling isn't it? I first heard it on the news on TV and really couldn't believe what I was hearing.

kapgar... oh I know, I'd join you in that stoning mate. They deserve nothing less.

penelope... yeah they did re-open the store. You know, can't let a tragic death spoil the potential profits now can we? Sigh, rolls eyes.

Göran... I think the human race is doomed personally.

Yep, this happened on Long Island, not too far from me. But something like this happens every year in a Wal-Mart or another store somewhere in the country, unfortunately. People are crazy.
