The Lazy Sunday Random
[Moozik: The Horrorist - Born This Way]
• A few years back, my sister introduced me to the goodness that is Röyksopp. They have a new song and the video is teh awesome. Go ahead watch it, I'll wait.
• We had an excellent time at the Phoenix Zoo yesterday afternoon. Smaller than I remember, and all the animals were hiding in the shade, it was 87° after all. But we had a blast nonetheless. Did I mention it was 87°? There's something special about taking kids to a zoo. Watching them observe animals they've never seen for the first time was worth the price of admission alone.
• I played competitive indoor football (soccer for you 'merkins) for the first time in, well, a bloody long time today. I'll write more about that tomorrow. Mind you I don't think I'll be able to get out of bed tomorrow. I'm old. And VERY out of shape.
• Dear Battlestar Galactica writers, you do realize you've only got 3 more episodes right? In any other season, creating new plots and having a character-centric story line might have been a good idea. But this close to the end? You've got an awful lot of loose end tying up to do this month. I hope I'm not disappointed. Just sayin'.
I've got tune stuck in my head now... aaaaaaaaarg...
I have a weird sort of ambivalence toward zoos. I always feel bad for the animals but at the same time, it's a good opportunity for research and preservation... and yeah, the kids love it.
87 degrees? Ha. Here in NYC we are having our first blizzard of the year tonight. And tomorrow. Looks like a day off for me tomorow! I've been praying for some Sunday into Monday action for quite some time, HAHAHA!
87?? I bet you don't miss England on days like that huh? ;o)
Yeah, we got snow today. Kids didn't go to school. Damn you and your 87 degrees Spencer.
87? Im envious. It's 8 degrees here today and we think it's a nice day.
I agree with you on the BSG writer thing. I still think there are things that need tying together. For example, How did the final 5 end up under Cavill's control so they could be inserted into society? I don't know how they can finish this off in 3 episodes... they'd better be long ones!
nat... yeah, I'm also in two minds about what I think of zoos. On the one hand they're a little cruel for the animals. On the other hand, many rare species give birth in zoos. Further, this may be the only chance some children have to see these animals with their own eyes. So yeah, ambivalent is probably the best way to describe it.
cindy... yeah this time of year is the only time I can gloat about the nice weather. In the summer I'll be hiding inside in my nice air conditioned building not wanting to brave 115°+ ;-)
penelope... oh there are *many* things I miss about England. The weather is not one of them ;-)
jake... go west young man. Seriously, coz then you'd get to see Depeche Mode too. It's a veritable win-win situation sir.
dave... oh there's so much they've got to tie-up in the remaining three episodes. I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they'll do just that. I've heard rumors of the last two episodes being multi-hour extravaganzas so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.
