Receipts
[Moozik: Pixies - Planet Of Sound]
Remember back in the good old days when you'd buy something and you'd get a tiny receipt in return? Good times they were. Yesterday I went to Home Depot to buy a tiny pack of screws and a diet coke.
I really don't think they've wasted enough paper on that receipt to be honest. What I want is a receipt that I can use to wrap a present with. I'm sure in a couple of years I'll have my way.

Ha! I was saying the exact same thing to Katie on Friday when we went there and bought two items, also. Sad, isn't it?
kapgar... and Home Depot isn't the worst offender in this regard either. We were at another store the other week and the receipt was like a scroll - it almost hit the floor ;-)
That's outrageous. Perhaps you should write a complaint or an ecological statement on the back of it and post it in their suggestions box?
jonathan... if you thought that was bad, you should see the receipt I got last night. Good fckn lord. And it had ads all over the reverse side too.
Oh this happens all the time to us, does anyone even bother to read all the crap they print out after the actual bottom line total? I know I don't.
Try Sears and K-Mart (same company). Three separate receipts, all with some crap about how we can enter a contest by filling out a survey. The last one I filled out, there was a place that said "anything else you would like to share" Which I added, "Please reduce the amount of paper you use for receipts."
The Apple store gives you the option of emailing your receipt to you. FTW
jake... I certainly pay no attention whatsoever to anything after the total.
marty... oh that 'enter a contest' bollocks at the bottom of those receipts annoy me enough that I never enter them. Wait, that's a bit silly isn't it. I mean I do want $5000 dollars so perhaps I could learn to live with the survey ;-) Oh and yes every time I've bought something at an apple store I have them email me the receipt. It certainly is FTW.
