Wildfires

[Moozik: The The - GIANT]

I've always taken an interest in the wildfires in the desert southwest region. After all, we live there. We've had some pretty bad fires in Arizona in the 12 years that I've called Phoenix home. Last year we had one pretty close by that we saw first hand.

Southern California is bearing the brunt of some nasty wildfires at the moment. As always, The Big Picture has some amazing photos. Go have a peek at them all.

I've a nasty idea about how these fires started - and who was responsible: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vek/3829105226/

jonathan... ha, and there I was certain that I'd covered my tracks.

The smoke cloud photo with downtown L.A. buildings in the foreground is pretty incredible.

So sad to see this. But that's how that area is during certain times of the year. I grew up there and I remember the fires getting pretty bad on the Saddleback Mountain range every year.

I saw that photo set yesterday. Blew my mind.

marty... it is truly sad to see. And knowing it was some arsewipe arsonist only makes it worse.

kapgar... agreed mate.

Amazing photos... devastating event...

(Thanks for the Snow Leopard review. I'll have to go out and get it.)

nat... ah, another Mac addict? Good to hear.
