Movies I'm Looking Forward To In 2010

Sometimes a short opening paragraph is all you need. So, in no particular order of preference, here are the movies I'm really looking forward to watching this year.

tron.jpgTron Legacy

I mean, come on, it's a Tron movie, and Jeff Bridges is reprising his role as Flynn. Granted, that doesn't necessarily mean anything and the potential for suckery exists but I loved the original when I was a kid and I'll admit I'm excited about this one.

inception.jpgInception

Leonardo DiCaprio in Christopher Nolan's hush hush 2010 release. Seems a bit sci-fi'y, gravity changey, and I'm intrigued enough to want to see this already. Any director whose resume includes The Dark Night is worth watching.

alice.jpgAlice In Wonderland

I know Johnny Depp already got his Willy Wonka out a few years back, and it wasn't very good. But this time when Johnny plays Willy Wonka The Mad Hatter, I'm hoping it will be better. Oh, and it's a Tim Burton flick to boot. Big fan.

robin.jpgRobin Hood

Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott back in the saddle again. Er, so to speak. Anyway, you couldn't do any worse than Kevin Costner's disasterpants effort last century. And who doesn't love them a good Robin Hood story eh?

persia.jpgPrince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

Loved loved loved the video games. The first POP game on the PS2 was nothing short of a masterpiece. Now, how well that translates to a movie remains to be seen. But I, for one, can't wait to find out.

ironman2.jpgIron Man 2

Really, is there anyone with a heartbeat that doesn't want to see this? The first one was so very very good. How perfect was Robert Downey Jr eh? When you're looking forward to a movie this much, potential for disappointment is high, but it's Iron Man!

ateam.pngThe A-Team

Yes, I said it. The A-Team. Watched every episode when I was a kid and I can't wait to see how they translate that to the big screen. There's an excellent cast involved, Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Face, and Sharlto Copely as Murdock. If nothing else, I want to see if they've got better aim than they did back in the day. Just how many bullets did they fire and no one ever got hit?

No love for the latest "Twilight" crap-fest? :-)

dave... no, haven't seen any of the Twilight movies. Nor read the books for that matter.

tickets are prebooked for Alice IW.land. Also both that and Tron will be in 3D! I can't wait! I'm quite looking forward to green zone as well. Have you seen Avitar yet?

simon... ohh, I'd never even heard of Green Zone until just now. Does sound good. No mate, I've had zero enthusiasm to see Avatar. I'll watch it on DVD though, just to see what all the fuss was about.

I want to see that bird from House in a Tron suit. I also want to see the District 9 fella's crack at Murdoch.

Yup, I'm looking forward to all those too.

We're just about to do the original Tron for the midnight movie club actually.

spd... I don't watch House so I'm all bemused ;-) Yeah, I'm thinking Sharlto Copely's casting as Murdoch is genius. I hope he pulls it off. Wait, that didn't sound right.

dan... I'm looking forward to your Midnight Movie Club review. Which I hope you continue by the way. The Back To The Future one was your best so far.

No need to apologize for The A-Team. I'm all over that.

Oh and I'll add Clash of the Titans to my list.

kapgar... ahh, yes I forgot about Clash of the Titans. Loved that movie too when I was a kid. Hmm, awful lot of remakes and not a lot of originality from 2010's Hollywood. Shocker right?

Tron and Iron Man 2 are tops on my list.

I didn't realize they were doing an A-Team movie. Which begs the curious question: will Mr T be making a cameo?

marty... a fine question sir. To be honest, I'd never even heard of the bloke they cast as B.A in the movie.

Tron Legacy, Iron Man 2 and Inception - definitely... I'm eagerly awaiting these too. Not bothered about the rest of your list though, sorry. :(

jonathan... no Robin Hood love? Saw a trailer for it last night at the cinema, looks amazing.

Oh I'll probably see it (Robin Hood) at some point - it's just not one that I'll make a special effort to see, if you know what I mean?
