Shining Through

So, when that wet stuff falls from the sky, it's a little out of the ordinary. It makes the evening news. People talk about it. People look out their windows and stare at it. For someone from England, this makes me giggle. It's just rain.

But when the heavens open here in Arizona, they open. The ground is so dry that it can't soak it up quickly enough. So we have little mini floods and newly created water polo fields where none previously existed.

The whole southern area - Arizona and California - have getting pounded with rain. Of course that standing water will breed mosquitoes and other bugs.

BTW, that's a great cactus shot, with the sun peaking through.

marty... Thanks! Ah yeah, I hadn't thought about the bugs :-(

Damn... that is a cool shot.

My parents went to AZ last year around this time. They found the reaction to the rain very funny. :)

Looks like the cactus is trying to flip somebody off. And is failing miserably.

nat... thank you. Yeah the "locals" have a strange reaction to rain.

kapgar... ha, I never noticed that before ;-)

The cactus shot is tripping me up. It´s F A N T A S T I C !!!

6ft5... thank you. That means a lot coming from you.
