I Still Miss My Headphone Jack
There's so much to nod at when reading this article by Mark Wilson at Fast Company. Nicely summed up in the final paragraph.
Technology should always bend to the user, not vice versa. And no human's life is measurably better since Apple had the "courage" to remove the 3.5 mm jack. But a lot of our lives are just a little worse.
Agreed. I have an 8 Plus and while I also use a pair of Beats bluetooth headphones, I always have to remember to turn them on, make sure they connect and make sure they are charged. My 3.5" jacked wired headphones don't need any of the above to connect.
Apple's headphone strategy is all over the map. Headphone jacks are removed, except for where they aren't. Lightning headphones work, except for where they can't. But dongletown!
Yep. And now the latest iPad Pro models have ditched the headphone jack. The end is nigh.
