last.fm Price Increase
last.fm are raising the price of their pro accounts. Which to be fair, has them join the club of lots of other services I pay for. There was much lamenting in r/lastfm on Reddit. And I get it, people will complain, as is their right.
I don't mind paying for services I get a lot of value out of. And last.fm is certainly one of those. I mean, I'm 18 years into it at this point, it's not like I'm suddenly going to have a change of heart. It's a coffee a month for something I enjoy. So yeah I'll continue paying to keep the lights on.
I cancelled. Mostly because I barely use the pro features. And because I live in a trash poor country, so $5 for me is more than $5 for an American. Life is unfair. I'd rather save some money
Of course, everyone has to make their own choice. Going from $3 to $5 has certainly left a bad taste for a lot of users.
I use the scrobble edit feature most of all, and in particular the add-on last.fm bulk edit script. Spotify metadata is sometimes horrible.
Mainly I just don't want to see the service disappear. I have a lot of time invested in these listening stats!
